Traditional Thai Massage
Traditional Thai Massage is a 2500-year-old technique for relaxing the body and quietening the mind. It can help to relieve many physical problems such as back pain, tense shoulders and neck, stiffness, poor posture, indigestion and sciatica as well as more mental problems like stress and lethargy.
The basic form of the massage is performed fully clothed (no oils are used) on a mat on the floor. The technique involves putting gentle but firm pressure on the body with the palms and thumbs, as well as relaxing stretching of the limbs and back. In this way it works effectively on skin, muscle, the organs and the skeletal structure.
Stretching and palming naturally tend to increase blood and lymph flow, effectively ventilating stagnant tissues, improving supply of nutrients, immune factors and causing toxins to be removed. They loosen the fasciae (connective tissues), thus liberating blocked and hardened regions, allowing the body to move more freely. They also work on the joints, realigning bones that have moved out of place (generating 'clicks' or 'clunks') and ventilating the joints, enabling fluid movement in and out.
Thai Oil Massage and Thai Herbal Oil Massage
Thai Aromatherapy Oil Massage uses the same techniques as traditional massage combined with a blend of essential oils especially chosen for your needs. Soft therapeutic touch promotes total relaxation, deep tissue strokes relieve the knots and tension while the oils soak through and bring balance to your whole system.
Each oil has its own unique medicinal properties and provides a wonderful or interesting aroma. Blended together they soak through the skin leaving it rejuvenated.
Herbal oil massage involves the use of steamed herbal packs which drive heat into skin and muscles, loosening tension and chasing away the cold.
